KO is ready for elections. “We are dealing with a political theater”

On Friday, the chairman of the Civic Platform, Borys Budka, called an urgent meeting of the PO national board, at which the current situation was discussed in connection with the crisis in the government coalition.

– Undoubtedly, we are dealing with a political theater, flexing muscles, because as you can see, no decisions have been made on the dismissal of ministers – said Jan Grabiec, spokesman for the Civic Coalition, in an interview with Onet. – However, we are dealing with a serious crisis, the real collapse of the government majority. If this is followed by the resignations of ministers, it will be possible to speak of a minority government, a complete loss of control – he added.

– So far we are dealing with the loss of stability of the coalition and the majority, formerly the United Right. So the loss of steering by Jarosław Kaczyński, who no longer controls it, does not manage this group – Grabiec said in an interview with Onet. “The government, on the other hand, still exists until they leave the government or the ministers of these rebels are thrown out.

The Civic Coalition is not afraid of new elections

“We will consider all scenarios,” assured the KO spokesman. – First of all, we are aware that we are in a situation in which there is a pandemic in Poland, the number of infections, including deaths, is increasing, when the economic crisis caused by the effects of the pandemic begins. Now we need a stable government that is able to run the state, and that is the most important challenge. Regardless of the role of the opposition, we bear in mind that we need a stable government, he stressed.

“This government was defective anyway. We know what happened at the Ministry of Health, we know how the Ministry of National Education works. I know that the government is unable to settle accounts with aid funds addressed to entrepreneurs. There are a lot of these problems. The breakdown of this government will generate more problems. We have to consider it responsibly – said Jan Grabiec in an interview with Onet.

– Of course, we are not afraid of these shouts about possible early elections. We will be prepared for these elections. We are fresh out of a good campaign. The structures are ready and we are able to stand for these elections – assured the spokesman of the Civic Coalition.

Split in the United Right

In the vote on the amendment to the law on animal protection proposed by PiS, which took place on Thursday night, despite club discipline, 38 members of the PiS club, including all members of Solidarity Poland, voted against; 15 Covenant MPs abstained and 2 were against. Against the short story, among others, Agriculture Minister Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski (PiS).

The head of the PiS club, Ryszard Terlecki, told journalists that the coalition of the United Right now practically does not exist, although a lot can still happen. He announced that the PiS leadership would meet on Monday to determine actions for the next few days. He stressed that z the vote of the coalition partners has to be followed up.
