KNVB Cup draw: Ajax – FC Utrecht | Football

sport">The two Eredivisie clubs will meet each other on December 15, 16 or 17 in Amsterdam. At the beginning of this month, Ajax won 3-0 in the premier league at FC Utrecht.

sport">Last season FC Utrecht and Ajax met in the semifinals of the KNVB Cup tournament, then in De Galgenwaard. Utrecht defeated the Amsterdam-squad 2-0, but the final against Feyenoord was canceled due to the corona crisis.

sport">For PSV, an away match against De Graafschap rolled into the draw. The ‘Super farmers’ participate at the top of the Kitchen Champion Division. Feyenoord was released, as were AZ, Fortuna Sittard, Heracles Almelo, ADO Den Haag, sc Heerenveen, FC Volendam, MVV and NEC. Those clubs are already certain of a place in the eighth finals.

sport">Due to ongoing corona measures, the KNVB had to remove all amateur clubs from the KNVB cup main tournament this week. The amateurs are not allowed to train in groups for the time being. The 26 amateur clubs that had reached the main tournament and would play in the first round, are financially compensated by the association.

sport">In addition to Ajax – FC Utrecht, there are two more duels in the second round between Eredivisie clubs: FC Emmen – FC Groningen and Willem II – Vitesse. The other matches are Almere City FC – VVV-Venlo, Excelsior – PEC Zwolle, SC Cambuur – Go Ahead Eagles and De Graafschap – PSV. The KNVB will announce the playing schedule shortly.
