sport">All clubs in professional football have jointly decided to offer the clubs that play in a European context the space for good preparation if they so request. The KNVB has received a request from all four clubs that are active in the Champions League (Ajax) and Europa League (AZ, Feyenoord and PSV).
Ajax a day later
sport">The first match to be played on another day is Ajax – SC Heerenveen. That game was scheduled for next Saturday, but has been moved to Sunday as all internationals will not return from their national teams until the end of the week. Ajax now has a day less to prepare for the first group match in the Champions League, against Liverpool next Wednesday.
AZ brought forward
sport">There are also showtimes forward by one hour. For example, the AZ – VVV-Venlo kick-off is not at 9 p.m. on Saturday, but at 8 p.m. AZ awaits the away game against Napoli in the Europa League next Thursday.
sport">These are changes until January 1, as the clubs will play in the group stages of the two European cup tournaments before the winter break.
Kitchen Champion Division
sport">A large number of matches have also shifted in the Kitchen Champion Division. “Now that it is very likely that the matches in the second period must be played without or for a limited audience, the clubs have chosen to spread the matches so that the fans can follow each game live on television,” said the KNVB. The schedule for the second period was drawn up on the basis that it was possible to play in full stadiums again.
sport">In addition, it has also been decided for this season that Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV and AZ are not allowed to play simultaneously in the Eredivisie. Until now, the rule only applied to the traditional top-3 (Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV).
