Knowledge Center Sessions at Expo People of Determination in Dubai

Dubai, 9th October / WAM / The Community Development Authority in Dubai, as part of its strategic partnership with the Expo People of Determination exhibition, opened the Knowledge Center working sessions, which continue throughout the three days of the event and host an elite group of service and technology providers directed to people of determination, government and private agencies, and advocates of people of determination from within. Dr. Alia Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of People with Disabilities at the Community Development Authority, said that this center represents an important opportunity for meaningful discussions, rich workshops, and to present success stories that were able to reshape the lives of people who did not surrender to challenges and faced all difficulties with remarkable strength that redefines the future of inclusion and empowerment.
She added that the sessions and workshops prepared for this event were carefully organized to explore new solutions, showcase emerging technologies, and present success stories that illuminate the path towards a more integrated society…noting that the knowledge center will allow the exchange of ideas and experiences and will open the way for joint cooperation in initiatives and projects that enhance the integration and empowerment of owners. Sheikha Suhaila bint Salem Al-Sabah, who advocates for the rights of people with disabilities in the State of Kuwait, spoke about the role of the volunteer process in serving and improving the lives of people with disabilities, pointing to the important results that have been achieved in the State of Kuwait through summer employment of people with disabilities in private companies and government services, calling for developing the role of The Gulf Cooperation Council to adopt joint projects at the region level to support people of determination.
The first day’s activities included a discussion session entitled “Towards an Autism-Friendly Society,” moderated by Ms. Iman Abu Shabab, Director of Community Awareness at the Dubai Autism Center, in the presence of a number of representatives of government and private agencies concerned with services for people with autism.
Dr. Omar Al-Mudhafer, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Consultant in Child Psychiatry at the Saudi Human Development Company, spoke about the new horizons of important rehabilitation techniques. Dr. Michel Gloger, CEO of Meister SRO from the Czech Republic, reviewed success stories related to the topic of stimulating safe walking for people with paralysis. The lower limbs.

The Knowledge Center activities at Expo People of Determination will continue next Tuesday and Wednesday, with the second day’s activities discussing topics related to the impact of technology and innovation on the lives of people of determination, while the third day’s topics focus on health care and rehabilitation.
