Knowing Earth’s Home Milky Way Galaxy

Hasanah.id – The Milky Way Galaxy is a large spiral galaxy that is home to Earth and our solar system. The Milky Way galaxy has a diameter of about 100,000 light years and is estimated to have a mass of about 1 trillion times that of the Sun.

The Milky Way galaxy is made up of several components, including the galactic core, galactic disk, and galactic halo. The galactic core is the area in the center of the galaxy where the stars are densest. The galactic disk is a flat area where stars and other interstellar matter is concentrated. Meanwhile, the galactic halo is the region that surrounds the galactic core and the galactic disk that contains old stars and sparse clouds of gas.

The Milky Way also has spiral arms made up of clusters of stars, gas and dust that circle around the galaxy’s core. In this spiral arm there are many natural phenomena such as the birth of new stars, supernova explosions, and supermassive black holes.

Our solar system is located within the Milky Way’s disk, about 25,000 light years from the galactic center. At the center of the galaxy is a supermassive black hole which is estimated to have a mass of about 4 million times that of the Sun. This supermassive black hole influences the motions of stars around it and contributes to the structure and evolution of the Milky Way galaxy.

The Milky Way Galaxy is one of the largest galaxies in the universe and has an important role in understanding the structure and evolution of galaxies. Much research has been done to study the Milky Way galaxy, both through direct observation and computer simulations, to understand the origin, evolution and properties of this massive spiral galaxy.
