TRIBUNWOW.COM – So far there is no type of drug that has been proven effective in treating patients Covid-19.
Even so, some types of drugs are still given to patients Covid-19, especially those with severe symptoms.
Following this, a statement from Dr. Lois Owien went viral which said that many Covid-19 patients died in hospitals due to interactions between the drugs they consumed.
“Interaction between drugs. If you open the data at the hospital, it gives more than six kinds of drugs,” said Dr. Lois in the event.
So, is it by taking a lot of medicine, is there? drug interactions which will be harmful to the patient, including the patient Covid-19?
This has been straightened out by Professor of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. Zullies Ikawati, Apt, when confirmed by Kompas.com, Sunday (11/7/2021).
“Not all drug interactions it’s always a disadvantage, but it can also be beneficial,” said Prof Zullies.
What is that drug interactions?
A drug interaction is the effect of a drug on the effect of another drug, when these drugs are used together in a patient, said Prof. Zullies.
However, interactions caused by taking multiple drugs are not always harmful.
