KlikBabel.com – Cardiovascular disease occurs due to disorders of the heart and blood vessels. The two most common types of cardiovascular disease are coronary heart disease and stroke.

The most common cause of cardiovascular disease is an unhealthy lifestyle, such as eating high-fat foods, smoking, and consuming alcohol.

Regarding cardiovascular disease, this was revealed by a Cardiologist and Blood Vessel Specialist, dr. Vita Yanti Anggraeni, SpJP, in an event entitled Early Detection of Coronary Heart Disease, Saturday (9/10/2021).

“The most trendy thing is coronary heart disease, because it can be sudden. If we already have good habits, eat healthy food, be physically active and stop smoking, for example, the incidence of heart attacks and strokes will decrease,” he said.

According to dr. Vita, cardiovascular disease occurs due to Astherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), namely the buildup of plaque in the blood vessels.

It is said that the buildup of plaque in these blood vessels will over time with age. If you get older and get older, the blood buildup will be heavier.

“The heavier the buildup of this plaque, it causes the blood vessels to flow not smoothly. In fact, the more this plaque develops, there will be a total blockage,” continued dr. Vita.

“If there is a total blockage in the blood vessels, then there is no blood flow. And this will result in tissue death, so that you can have heart attacks and strokes,” said dr. Vita.

How to prevent?

Dr. Vita continued, if you want to prevent cardiovascular disease from developing, you need to control a healthy lifestyle. One of them is by eating healthy foods, such as fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and fish.

“If we have hypertension, for example, we can do the DASH diet. And if we have metabolic syndrome, we can do a vegetarian diet, and if we have heart disease, we can do the Mediterranean diet,” concluded dr. Vita
