KnowBe4, provider of the world’s largest platform for security awareness and simulated phishing, is launching a new podcast series called ‘Security Masterminds’. The podcast covers a range of cybersecurity topics, with a particular focus on the human element. A new podcast comes out every month, the episodes are about 30 minutes long. A variety of experts from the cybersecurity industry will be guests in these podcasts.
“Launching this podcast is a dream come true for us,” said Javvad Malik, Lead Security Awareness Advocate at KnowBe4. “It’s a very conversational podcast that’s easy to follow, keeping listeners interested in the fascinating and current world of cybersecurity. We hope our listeners will find this podcast both informative and entertaining.”
Dr. Lydia Kostopoulos
The first guest of the Security Masterminds podcast is Dr. Lydia Kostopoulos (pictured), SVP of Emerging Tech Insights at KnowBe4. After the September 11 attacks, Kostopoulos, a freshman at the university at the time, became interested in the topic of cybersecurity. She decided to focus on a cybersecurity study. During this podcast, Kostopoulos explores the zeitgeist in which we find ourselves now, which is better known as the fourth industrial revolution. A period in which topics such as AI, DNA editing, nanotechnologies, mixed media, smart sensors and quantum computing are discussed. We are at the beginning of a new infrastructure that is being built for things like smart cities and autonomous vehicles. Given the plethora of new technologies and the rapid pace at which things are changing and evolving, there is a huge gap in cybersecurity skills. As long as technology changes, you have to keep up-skilling.
