KOMPAS.com – Spread corona virus is still a world concern to this day. The number of cases globally, including in Indonesia, is still increasing.
In Indonesia, until Saturday (5/9/2020), there were 190,665 people who were confirmed positive Covid-19.
Meanwhile, 136,401 patients have been declared cured and 7,940 patients have died.
On social media, many have asked how deadly the corona virus is for those who have been infected.
One of them, as uploaded by the Twitter account @Muh_Ab_dilah on Friday (4/9/2020).
“Doc …” he said, “this is a deadly disease, huh? How come many are healed than those who died? Ask for an explanation, Doc, don’t be slaughtered,” write @Muh_Ab_dilah.
There are conditions that make a person experience severe conditions when infected with the corona virus.
However, some are in mild or moderate conditions so that they do not endanger their lives.

Meanwhile, until now no vaccine or drug has been found to treat the corona virus.
What do we need to know about this?
Meanwhile, 10 percent were severe patients and 5 percent were critical, the majority of whom had comorbidities or comorbidities.
These comorbid or comorbid diseases are the main factors in Covid-19 patients experiencing severe conditions that cause death.
“So, among those who died, 70-75 percent were due to comorbidities,” said Tonang when contacted Kompas.com, Saturday (5/9/2020).
There are several diseases that fall into the comorbid category.
These diseases include heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, asthma, high cholesterol, high uric acid, and other serious diseases.
Tonang said, these diseases are long-term diseases that do not automatically heal after being treated.
“Disease like that is long term, not like when you have a toothache, once it is treated it is finished. For heart disease, asthma, sugar, and others, the treatment continues,” he explained.
“That’s what is called a comorbid. People like that, if they are infected with Covid-19, then they are more at risk of worsening than those without comorbids,” said Tonang.
When asked about someone who initially did not experience any illness or symptoms and then suddenly worsened, Tonang could not say exactly what caused it.
This condition occurs in a number of patients, such as happy hypoxia. A patient who looks fine suddenly gets worse and experiences shortness of breath.
This is possible because of many factors that need further research.

The key to recovery: body immunity
Tonang said, body immunity is an important factor to fight the presence of viruses that enter the body’s cells.
Immunity plays a role in preventing the virus from dying and preventing it from being able to “do much.”
“Well, the virus actually has a certain time to survive before it dies,” said Tonang.
For the corona virus, continued Tonang, it has a life span of 14 days and will peak on the fifth day.
This is what makes some people experience rapid recovery after being positive for Covid-19.
Those who recover from exposure to the corona virus because the life span of the virus in the body has ended.
“If someone is caught having the virus then how come the negative is fast, it is actually too late or the virus is about to clear,” he explained.
“If it is caught earlier, the recovery period will automatically take about 10 days or until the active period of the virus runs out,” said Tonang.

With the level of spread that is still high, people are still advised to take steps to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
Apart from protecting themselves, they also protect those who fall into vulnerable groups.
Vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and those with comorbids, will experience severe conditions if infected with the corona virus.
Remember again, here are 10 ways you can prevent contracting the corona virus as reported by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Ministry of Health and WHO:
