Group XXL

The event is the size of the company, gigantic. Around 80,000 people are expected to attend this day, which required several months of preparation. All services (HR, General Resources, Business Operations, Communications, Legal, Security, etc.) were also related to his organization. Between 2,500 and 3,000 Airbus volunteers will be transferred next Sunday.

In order to spread the flow of visitors throughout the day optimally, employees were asked to choose a site and arrival time in advance. And to avoid traffic jams, it is strongly recommended to use public transport to reach the event. Because despite more than 20,500 parking spaces available around the various sites, the number of vehicles allowed in will be regulated according to the site and the timetable.

The tour routes were also arranged to allow groups to move smoothly. 17 inter-site shuttles allow visitors to go from one location to another. And to ensure their safety, outside and inside the buildings, the routes will be marked and protected by more than 20 kilometers of barriers. About fifty food trucks will also be present on site to allow employees and their guests to eat throughout the day. Airbus does not provide any figures on the cost of the event.

The last “family day” was held in Toulouse in 2010. About 140,000 people, employees and subcontractors, took part. After the health crisis, Airbus therefore decided to relaunch the concept. A way for their employees to express their commitment within the company by inviting their loved ones to visit their work environment. Days of this type were also organized in 2023 on the sites of aircraft manufacturers in Germany and Spain, and last weekend in the United Kingdom.

Notice of strike filed by Fiducial Security Agents

Since October 2021, Toulouse Airbus sites have been inspected and controlled by representatives of the Security subsidiary of the French company Fiducial. For Airbus Family Day, usually 400 security agents have to be deployed to ensure the event runs smoothly. But the National Union of Autonomous Trade Unions (UNSA) leaves no doubt. In fact a strike notice for the employees of Fiducial Sécurité Humaine Toulouse Aéro has been scheduled for this day of September 15. Therefore the UNSA intends to put pressure on the management of Toulouse on Fiducial.

Among the main demands, the union wants the 13th month, which was paid to half of the workers today, to be given to all the workers. He also wants all employees to benefit from the position bonus (€1.80 full/hour). Less than 10% of the workforce has it today. The union specifies that negotiations continue actively and estimates that an agreement will be reached before September 15. “Our leadership has fully appreciated the seriousness of our movement and they hope to be able to bring it to a speedy resolution.
