The loyal viewer knows it by now: the weddings of ‘Married at First Sight’ are almost always a success. Arjan and Maurice are already flying the flag, and Joep and Caroline are also getting closer to their big moment. Do they click or not? At least the mother of the bride already has her opinion ready.

But first Astleigh and Rowan; who wake up in the bridal suite, together and married for the first time. According to the newlyweds, the night immediately felt familiar. ‘All the way‘ they didn’t go right away, Rowan says before they find out that they are going on a honeymoon to Sardinia. Although Astleigh throws himself fully into the experiment, his parents still have to get used to the idea. They were therefore not present during the wedding, mainly due to the presence of the cameras. They did, however, write a letter to their future daughter-in-law in advance. “Of course it would have been great to have been able to meet them there already, but I fully respect and understand the decision,” said Rowan.
She has kept the letter well and is also in her suitcase. If Astleigh indicates that she does want to read it, she has grabbed it in no time. The words are well received by the new groom. “Well, that’s heavy”, he says with tears in his eyes after reading the letter. “It really touches me that I get my mother’s feeling back from that letter. It is good to hear that she is fully behind it and that she does support us.”

Arjan and Maurice have now also said yes, and have even kissed each other. “The first thing that strikes me is that it is full of energy, comes across positively, really has that positive appearance,” says Maurice. So, according to him, the first kiss also felt “very good.” “A really nice kiss (…) I had the idea that he was taking the lead, but I had also thought about it beforehand: I also wanted to kiss. And I also think it’s very nice that someone takes the lead. very nice. He can do that.”
Sander and Astrid have already gone one step further and are celebrating love in Mallorca, where a new day has begun and an excursion with alpacas is planned. And that is where the first cracks appear in the marriage when Sander sees a trike, a three-wheeled motor vehicle. Although the device belongs to someone else, he just takes a seat behind the wheel. “I wouldn’t have gotten into it right away, but okay,” Astrid responds with a laugh in front of the camera.

For Joep and Caroline, the big moment has yet to happen and that’s a good thing, because the mother of the bride-to-be has comments about almost everything. For example, mother Jantine tells the make-up artist that she can still run a brush through her daughter’s eyebrows. And she wonders if her lips are okay’kiss proof’ to be enough. She also jokes whether “more layers than on the wall” are being smeared on her daughter’s face. When it is time for the veil, it is Jantine who realizes that he is wrong.
Mothers herself would also like to emphasize ‘never want to participate in such a program’. “I never look nice in photos, so let alone on television. Nope,” she raves. She doesn’t mind at all that she will have to give her little girl away to an unknown man. “I give her away, but she can always return,” she says. “She’s had relationships, but you never really thought that.. (…) I don’t know what she sees in this, it’s fun and she wants to. So she tries something too.”
Caroline’s mother has also not escaped the attention of the viewers at home. On Twitter, many people express their displeasure with her behavior.

In the episode the fifth couple also appears: 28-year-old Sonny and Dylan of 27. Sonny has a lot of passion, but lacks someone to share it with. Dylan has been single for five years now and has it all together, but like Sonny, he is looking for someone to share his happiness with. “We’ve been talking about this for quite a while, because they live very far apart,” explains expert Radboud Visser. Sonny lives in Dordrecht and Dylan is from Emmen. “It’s really come a long way, but it turns out they’ve both been in a relationship for quite some time already and we couldn’t bring ourselves to not let this match go ahead. We really hope it will be a success. “
Or is that so? Married at First Sight can be seen every Tuesday at 8.30 pm on RTL 4 or look ahead at Videoland.
