Knock! The Most Expensive Ivermectin Price is Pegged at IDR 7,885/Tablet

PT Indofarma Tbk has obtained a distribution permit from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) for generic products Ivermectin 12 mg packaging boxes where 1 bottle contains 20 tablets. The distribution permit was obtained on June 20, 2021.

In Indofarma’s statement, Friday (2/7/2021), the Net Pharmacy Price (HNA) including VAT for Ivermectin tablets 12 mg/bottle containing 20 tablets is set by the company at Rp 123,200 or equivalent to Rp 6,160 per tablet.

“While the Highest Retail Price (HET) including VAT is IDR 157,700 or equivalent to IDR 7,885 per tablet,” the statement reads.

For distribution, Ivermectin products are carried out by Pharmaceutical Wholesalers (PBF) who are appointed by the company to distribute to pharmaceutical facilities in accordance with the guidelines for Good Drug Distribution Methods (CDOB).

Currently, Ivermectin products can be obtained through a doctor’s prescription at Kimia Farma and Halodoc Pharmacies. The network will be expanded according to the needs of product distribution to the community.

The company has a production capacity Ivermectin existing 4.5 million tablets/month using one line of production facilities. In order to anticipate the needs of the community, the company will increase its capacity to double or more than the existing capacity.

“With raw materials that are already available and in the process of being shipped from raw material providers in other countries, the company’s production plan for Ivermectin products from early July 2021 to August 2021 is around 13.8 million tablets,” said Indofarma in a further statement.

For your information, Ivermectin has received the green light for clinical trials of a COVID-19 drug. Head of BPOM Penny Kusumastuti Lukito announced that clinical trials for Ivermectin as a COVID-19 drug will soon be carried out.

“This opportunity is to provide information regarding the Approval for the Implementation of Clinical Trials (PPUK) which will be a cure for COVID-19,” he said in a virtual press conference, Monday (28/6/2021).
