Knife stab in the back at Altaussee Kirtag: 22-year-old noticed…

The man from Lower Austria suffered a long cut several centimeters deep. He had not noticed the wound until other guests pointed out the blood to him. The police are now looking for clues.

A 22-year-old man from Lower Austria was stabbed in the back by someone with a knife at the Altaussee fair on Monday night. Because he was drunk, the young man was initially unaware of what had happened. He only felt a burning pain. It was only later that other guests drew his attention to the heavily bleeding wound and called the emergency services. The police are now hoping for information from the public.

The man from the St. Pölten district was at the festival with two friends and must have consumed a lot of alcohol. At around 12:30 a.m. he said he was talking to a woman outside the beer tent in the bar area when he felt the pain in his back. It was only when other guests pointed out the large amount of blood to him that he noticed the wound. The emergency services were called.

The emergency services took the man from Lower Austria to the Bad Aussee regional hospital. There, the doctors discovered a cut several centimeters long and deep, which required emergency medical treatment and stitches. The hospital then called the police.

No clues yet as to perpetrator

Since then, investigations into the events have been ongoing. A suspect is being sought. A new interview with the 22-year-old, who was admitted to the LKH, has so far yielded no clues as to a possible perpetrator. Further interviews are ongoing. If the public has any information, they can contact the Bad Aussee police station on 059133/6351, according to a press release on Monday.
