China News Agency, Tokyo, July 23 (Xinhua) According to the Japan Broadcasting Association TV station, on the morning of the 23rd local time, a knife attack occurred on a train in Osaka Prefecture, Japan, resulting in at least three injuries. None of the three injured were life-threatening, and the assailant was arrested on the platform.

According to reports, the knife attack occurred on a train running in Osaka Prefecture in western Japan. At around 10:30 local time on the 23rd, the fire department received a call from staff at Rinku City Station in Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture, and learned that someone had been stabbed in the face with a knife.

According to the local police report, the assailant was a 37-year-old man named Kazuya Shimizu, whose residence and occupation are not yet known. The man was arrested on the spot by the police on suspicion of attempted murder on the train platform. The incident resulted in injuries to two male passengers aged in their 20s and 70s and a male conductor in his 20s. The three injured were sent to hospital for treatment, all with minor injuries.

According to reports, the assailant was arrested with three knives and admitted to the police that he had wounded someone with a knife. According to Japan’s Kyodo News Agency citing sources from the Osaka Prefecture Police, the assailant confessed that he had a dispute with other passengers at the time of the incident.

Affected by this incident, in the morning of the same day, the Kansai Airport Line from Hineno to Kansai Airport was temporarily suspended.
