The case was shocking: In Teningen in the Kaiserstuhl, a second grader stabbed his teacher. Three years later, the teacher is still struggling to get her full pension.

Teningen – The boy is standing in the school hallway and has found a knife. With that he now wants to go back to class, he says. That doesn’t work, says Christine Bauer. “Please give me the knife,” she says. But the seven-year-old doesn’t want to. There is a scramble and suddenly the teacher has the knife in her stomach. In the affect she pulls it out again. The blade is four inches long. “I have to wipe off my blood so the other kids don’t get scared,” she thinks. When she opens the door to the school toilet, she falls over. She lies squashed in the open door for ten minutes and can’t even call out. The children sit obediently over their tasks.
