After the knife attack in a hotel in Glasgow, the police identified the perpetrator. It was a 28-year-old man from Sudan, the Scottish police said late Saturday evening. The man injured six people in the Friday attack and was shot by police officers. The authorities did not expect a terrorist attack.
There is evidence that the man had mental health problems. The police in Scotland are still investigating the exact circumstances of the incident, the statement said. The police also investigated the use of firearms that had resulted in the attacker’s death.

The incident happened at the Park Inn Hotel in the city center. Asylum seekers were accommodated there during the corona pandemic. Among the injured were three other residents of the hotel, two employees and a police officer. All are still in hospital treatment, but in stable condition, the police said on Saturday.
