Knieling is moving from Bavaria Fiction to Florida Film

Florida Film is strengthening with Maren Knieling this summer. From July, Knieling, who was previously responsible for various TV and cinema projects for Bavaria Fiction (“Nestwochen”, “Das Secret des Totenwaldes” or “Das Programm”), will be working alongside Arne Kreutzfeldt as managing director of Florida Film. “Maren is exactly the addition we were missing to take the next big step with Florida Film,” said Klaas Heufer-Umlauf happily. The television presenter is a producer and shareholder at Florida Film.

Knieling would like to develop “special fictional material” at a new place of work and then produce it for a broad target group. Thanks to the impulses she sets, synergies within the Florida Group are to be further expanded and used. We are talking about a more holistic use of expertise in the areas of entertainment (Florida TV), advertising (Florida Reklame), journalism (K2H), podcasts (Studio Bummes) and fiction.

Knieling: “The combination of extraordinary show formats, journalism, podcasts and fiction within Florida offers exciting opportunities to rethink storytelling and to work on innovative concepts.” An example of this could be “Cui Bono: the series” (AT). This is the film adaptation of the podcast “Cui Bono: WTF happened to Ken Jebsen?”, which explores the emergence and spread of conspiracy theories.

In addition to Maren Knieling, Anne Solá Ferrer, Sebastian Schultz and Lars Jessen will continue to be part of the Florida Film team from the summer.
