Knicks vs Cavs Game 4: New York Dominates Cleveland with Jalen Brunson’s Heroics

Knicks and Cavs had an appointment at the Garden tonight for Game 4 of the series between the two teams. Leading for much of the game, New York finished strong to sink Cleveland. Tom Thibodeau’s men have two match points (3-1).

So here we are at Madison Square Garden for this Game 4 so important in the rest of the series. The Cavs to come back to 2-2, the Knicks to put Cleveland back against the wall at 3-1? Suffice to say that we expected a big fight, comfortably installed in our armchair at the Grand Rex.

Padlocked by the Knicks a few days agothe Cavs have obviously not recovered from their emotions. The start of the game for JB Bickerstaff’s men was particularly bad. We have the impression of seeing a team playing a simple regular season game. New York shows another level of intensity and desire in front of an overexcited public.

Dominating the rebound, with a Jalen Brunson in his chair and despite Julius Randle’s failure at the start of the match, the Knicks are racing in the lead without forcing. On the Cavs side, one wonders where the leaders are. Donovan Mitchell has almost as many lost balls as points, Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen are in Casper mode. Fortunately Evan Mobley floats a little, with the help of the bench. Positive point for Cleveland: even playing at this level, they are only -9 at the break, everything is still playable.

Slowly but surely, the gap grew and Jalen Brunson finished the job with a 3-point dagger to sink the last hopes of the Ohio players. 102-93 victory for the Knicks, who can finish the job in Cleveland on Wednesday night.
