Knicks beat Hawks 99-90; break their 7-win streak | sports

ATLANTA (AP) – Alec Burks scored 23 points, Evan Fournier added 20 and the New York Knicks beat the Atlanta Hawks 99-90 on Saturday Saturday, breaking a seven-game winning streak.

Burks, who started in place of Kemba Walker and Derrick Rose who are recovering from injuries, made three of four attempts for triples and had 15 points in the third period.

Trae Young finished with 33 points, scoring at least 30 for the fourth straight game, but it wasn’t enough and Atlanta is 8-2 and 11-10 overall. Clint Capela had 16 points and 21 rebounds.

Both teams played on consecutive nights, the Hawks won the day before in Memphis and the Knicks lost at home to Phoenix. They met for the first time since Atlanta beat New York in five games in the past playoffs.

The Hawks, who started in second place on hitting 3s with a 37.6 percentage, missed 13 in the first half and finished scoring 24.3%.
