Julius Randle had 28 points and 16 rebounds as he led the Knicks to a 102-83 victory over the Phoenix Suns in New York on Monday. Jalen Brunson, returning after missing three games with a right hip injury, finished with 24 points.
Immanuel Quickley had 15 points, Quentin Grimes had 12 and Mitchell Robinson finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Knicks.
Deandre Ayton led Phoenix with 12 points. Chris Paul had 11 and Mikal Bridges had 10. The Suns, who lost for the sixth time in seven games, scored their first four points of the game.
The Knicks trailed the next 14 and led the rest of the game. The Knicks led 23-11 after the first period, the fewest they had allowed to any opponent in any period since Feb. 1, 2022 (against Indiana).
Phoenix trailed within 11, but on a 21 run the Knicks went up 32 points (52-20). The Suns finished the second quarter on an 11-2 run and trailed 54-31 .
Phoenix tied for the fewest points the Knicks had allowed since Orlando had 31 on April 11, 2015. Thus, the latter stretch of the season heats up.
