Knee to the ground during the national anthem: MLS players booed

Players from FC Dallas and Nashville SC were booed by supporters in Frisco, Texas on Wednesday.

Athletes received this unflattering treatment at FC Dallas stadium for putting their knees on the ground during the US national anthem.

“It was disgusting,” FC Dallas defender Reggie Cannon told Major League Soccer (MLS) website after the game. I think it was absolutely disgusting. There are supporters who have booed us because we stand for something we believe in. Millions of other people support this cause.

During the MLS return tournament, all the players took this gesture to protest against racial inequalities. Not taking part in the event due to COVID-19, FC Dallas and Nashville SC have chosen to do the same for their first game since March.

“We have fans booing us in our own stadium. How shameful is that? Honestly, for lack of better words, that pissed me off, Cannon added. We can’t even have the support of our own fans in our stadium. It’s puzzling. ”

Due to the pandemic, only 2,912 people have been admitted to Toyota Stadium. It was the first game in front of fans held by MLS since the coronavirus wreaked havoc in North America.
