Tennessee Titans: DeAndre Hopkins misses preseason training
The new 2024/25 NFL season starts in just over a month – it currently does not look like DeAndre Hopkins will be able to take part in the season opener.
The Tennessee Titans wide receiver injured his knee during training and will now miss the preseason. The 32-year-old was seen during the week with a bandage on his left knee. There is no official press release from the Titans about the injury, but according to media reports, Hopkins will be out for four to six weeks.
This is a big blow for the Titans because Hopkins is the Nashville franchise’s No. 1 receiver. Hopkins was the team’s leading receiver last season with 75 catches for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Titans were previously an extremely run-oriented team under their previous head coach Mike Vrabel, but under new coach Brian Callahan the focus is now more on the passing game. This is in keeping with the fact that the Titans brought in two new receivers in Calvin Ridley and Treylon Boyd. In this respect, the Hopkins injury is also a setback for the team, which missed the playoffs last season.
The Titans’ first game of the season will be against the Chicago Bears on September 8th in Week 1 – probably without Hopkins.
