I have switched, business and partly private, to KNAB, but the disruptions I have had with KNAB in the past year are something I have never experienced to this extent with ABN AMRO.
I still have an account with ABN and I really don’t dare to cancel it. I’ve had a few times that I simply couldn’t pay / transfer something. For business, that’s quite painful. I was in a good position in terms of time and still had a few days to pay the VAT, but if I want to pay the VAT on the last day of the month, I think that should be possible and it shouldn’t be exciting whether you get into the app or not.
I am really considering switching, I don’t think the app works very well, it has some very annoying UI things: when I go to the home screen, the screen slides up and down a few times, notifications keep coming back after you have dismissed it and some other things.
Also different operation suddenly, if you open an account and press transfer, it always goes back to the main account to transfer from, this was not the case before, which is why I often transferred from the wrong accounts in the beginning.
and if you just transferred some things, the balance is often not correct, but when I look in my wife’s app, it is correct there (or on the site). Very strange, as if something is being cached locally.
I have no idea how big the team is at KNAB and understand that there are other priorities, but the operation of the app and the outages will ultimately push me towards a competitor.
