Klopp’s Behaviour and Jota’s Winner: Controversy in Liverpool’s 4-3 Win Over Tottenham

Diogo Jota’s strike secured an impressive 4-3 victory for Liverpool just 99 seconds after Richarlison’s first Premier League goal for Everton had earned them a dramatic late point in a match that saw Liverpool come back from 3-0 down. However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s behaviour and comments about referee Paul Tierney may land him in disciplinary trouble. Former referees chief Keith Hackett took to Twitter to call out Klopp’s behaviour, stating that the law must be applied to improve the Technical area occupants’ behaviour. Tottenham interim head coach Ryan Mason also questioned the VAR’s decision not to give Jota a red card following his head-high challenge on Oliver Skipp and suggested that the game’s result was decided by a player who should not have been on the pitch. Despite this, Mason was proud of his team’s performance and stated that they created several chances and could have won the match.
