Jürgen Klopp brought his entire coaching staff to London to share the credit when he was named manager of the year by the managers themselves, and took the opportunity to thank Mike Gordon for extending his contract with the Anfield club.
– The fact that it is my colleagues who have made this selection makes it of course the most important manager award you can win, said Klopp.
– I do not really have much left over for individual prices in football in general, as this is a team sport, and I would not have managed it without these boys here. It’s all about what we can accomplish and have accomplished together.
“This is awful, absolutely awful,” former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson joked during the award ceremony.

LMA Manager of the Year in voted by the managers of the 92 clubs in the top four divisions in England.
The Liverpool manager also won the nomination of Premier League’s Manager of the Season for 2021/22.
The second time that Klopp wins both prizes
The German received both awards during the League Managers Association’s gala dinner in London on Tuesday night, after a unique season with Liverpool.
– This is a great honor, and it has been an insane season. In the last league round we did not get the best outcome for us, but we have already overcome it. When you win an award like this, you are either a genius, or you have the best coaching staff in the world. I’m here with four from my coaching staff, and they know how much I appreciate them, Klopp said.
Klopp has led Liverpool to trophies in both the League Cup and the FA Cup, and the Reds came in second place in the Premier League, just one point behind league champions Manchester City, after collecting a full 92 points.
