Klopp was suspended for two matches after questioning the integrity of referee Paul Tierney after the “Reds” victory over Tottenham last April in the 34th round of the English Premier League.
And Klopp got himself into trouble with the football authorities after he attacked Terney after the fiery end to Liverpool’s 4-3 victory at home to Tottenham.
“I expected a penalty with all the things we know and all the things we can hear,” Klopp told reporters on Friday.
“The people around me were very negative, and they thought it would be longer. So, there is one game, it’s okay.”
Klopp’s absence comes at a sensitive period for Liverpool, the fifth in the league, as he aspires to end the season in a qualifying position for the main continental competition. He is currently trailing fourth United by one point, but the latter played one less game.
The Reds have won their last seven matches, and Klopp said, “From an observer’s point of view, I will be in a much better position to see the match, as it happened previously against Southampton (when it was also suspended last November) and it was very useful to see the match from far”.
Liverpool will host Aston Villa on Saturday in the penultimate 37th stage competition.
