Klopp Sindir Kandang Madrid, Koeman Defends

Barcelona

Manager Liverpool Jürgen Klopp insinuating the cage Real Madrid now. Trainer Barcelona Ronald Koeman try to defend. What did he say?

Liverpool had to lose by a score of 1-3 to Madrid on a visit to Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium, Wednesday (7/4/2021) early morning WIB yesterday, in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

The victory made it easier for Madrid to move to the semifinals, while Liverpool had to struggle to score at least two goals without reply to qualify. Klopp admitted that his team did poorly in the first half.

However, the man from Germany did not forget to mention an external factor, namely Madrid’s home, which is more like a training ground than a stadium. Madrid cannot play at the Santiago Bernabeu at least until the start of the 2022/2023 season because it is being renovated.

As a result, since the competition began again in June last year in the midst of the corona virus pandemic, Madrid played in a stadium with a capacity of 6,000 spectators. The stadium often made it difficult for the opposing team, considering that the atmosphere that was formed was not like a match but training.

Meanwhile, Madrid are already accustomed to playing in a stadium that is actually the home of the Castilla team. Regarding Klopp’s criticism, Koeman as Barcelona coach instead defended Madrid.

According to Koeman, what Klopp said was underestimating Madrid as a big club.

“It discredits Real Madrid a little,” Koeman was quoted as saying ESPN.

“They have chosen this because the cage is being renovated, this is good. For players, of course it is difficult to play without fans,” he continued.

“Maybe Madrid are just more accustomed to playing there, but the opponent also knows where Madrid will play right? That’s not important to me. I’m sure the pitch must be good and that’s the most important thing,” concluded Ronald Koeman.

Barcelona will visit the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium to face Madrid, Sunday (11/4/2021) in the morning WIB tomorrow.
