Jürgen Klopp addressed Liverpool supporters in an open letter on Monday and thanked them for their support during this season. The German manager also praises, among other things, club icons Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard.
“Like the current squad, I would like to thank two men who set the standard at Liverpool. Sir Kenny Dalglish is the soul and Steven Gerrard is the club’s legs,” Klopp writes in the letter, which was published in Liverpool Echo.
“Kenny’s knowledge of Liverpool and what this club means to the people is vital in everything we do. And Gerrard carried the club in so many different ways. There is no one who deserves this title more than him. They are icons of the club that put us in the position we are in now. “
Liverpool made history on Thursday by capturing the league title for the first time since 1990. With seven rounds to go, ‘The Reds’ have an insurmountable 23-point lead over nearest attacker Manchester City.

“I am also human and we share the same passion for Liverpool, but it is important that we avoid mass gatherings. We owe it to the vulnerable people in society and the healthcare workers that we have all applauded for,” said Klopp.
“Celebrate the championship, but please do it safely and in a private environment. We have all worked so hard to fight the COVID-19 virus. Not all of that should be undone by us.”
