On Saturday (August 22) a storm with heavy rainfall passed over Kłodzko and the entire Kłodzko Valley. Streets, buildings, restaurants and shops were flooded in the city. The damage assessment is ongoing. Firefighters intervened 70 times – they were called to pump out the water.
The officer on duty of the Lower Silesian fire brigade informed on Sunday (23 August) that there were a total of 70 such interventions related to the downpour in Kłodzko and the surrounding area.
The cloudburst began after 15, and intense rainfall lasted about half an hour. Within minutes, 47 mm of rain, or 47 liters per square meter, fell, turning the streets into rushing rivers.
The greatest damage is caused by damaged road surfaces, e.g. ul. Heroes of the Ghetto, the Prussian Homage, Korczak. The latter is closed due to damage to the pavement and must be repaired.
The OSiR sports stadium was flooded and was also closed. The Underground Tourist Route was also flooded.
