It’s about travel to Europe. 34 flights have already been canceled today, KLM has yet to see if it is needed before Monday. Schiphol has announced that until the end of next month, 9250 passengers will be able to depart fewer per day.
The reduction in the number of passengers, which will apply until 31 October, is in addition to the maximum number of passengers already in force. This limit amounted to approximately 3,500 passengers per day. This roof was fixed due to the crowd expected for the autumn holidays.

There are too few security guards available at Schiphol to carry out checks. There have been long queues at the airport in the last week.
KLM says to rebook canceled trips, but cannot guarantee that the replacement flight will depart on the same day. Customers who incur additional costs as a result of the procedure “will be compensated in the usual way,” writes the airline.
On Thursday it was announced that Dick Benschop will step down as Schiphol’s boss. The pressure on the CEO had increased after months of chaos caused by shortages.
“Personal choice”
He stresses that leaving was his choice. “There is a lot of attention and even criticism about how Schiphol deals with problems. And this also applies to my responsibility as CEO. I leave room on my own to give Schiphol a fresh start.”
