The number of hospitalizations and deaths from coronavirus infection continues to grow rapidly in the capital.
Lockdown in Kiev from November 1 will be valid only for unvaccinated citizens. This was announced on Friday, October 29, by the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, on the Freedom of Speech program with Savik Shuster.
“From November 1, the capital is included in the” red “zone. We are counting on clear interaction with the police. To monitor compliance with the key rules: both for travel in transport and for visiting various institutions. I want to emphasize once again that today a lockdown in Kiev will be act for those people who are not vaccinated, “said Klitschko.
He pointed to extremely negative statistics. So, according to him, every day over the past week in Kiev from the coronavirus and complications associated with it, 40-50 people died.
“The situation is very difficult. And we are doing everything possible to help doctors from the capital’s budget, motivating them. We buy oxygen. As of today, we have no problems with providing hospitals,” Klitschko assured.
At the same time, he noted that the capital today is the leader in vaccination among other Ukrainian cities and regions. In total, since the beginning of the vaccination campaign in the capital, about 2 million 200 thousand vaccinations have been carried out.
Recall that the commission on fuel and energy security and emergency situations on Thursday, October 28, decided to assign Kiev to the red zone quarantine from November 1.
