Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko commented on the incident at the Boryspil airport, where on Sunday morning, August 22, he was not allowed to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
According to him, by such actions the government demonstrates weakness in foreign policy.
“I am convinced that in foreign policy, the authorities should demonstrate a consolidation of efforts, not pettiness and weakness. In the meantime, unfortunately, it demonstrates weakness … By doing so, weakening the position of Ukraine,” Klitschko said.
According to him, the President’s Office worked out a plan for half the night on how to prevent him from meeting with Merkel, instead of thinking about how to strengthen Ukrainian-German relations.
We will remind, in the morning Klitschko said that the security did not let him through at the Borispol airport, where, according to the protocol, he had to meet Merkelas it had done on all her previous visits. He did not break through by force.
