Kleines Theater Haar relies on hybrid events – district of Munich

Quite a few people usually gain weight in the weeks before Christmas because they consume too much: from vanilla croissants to Christmas stollen to mulled wine with a splash. In contrast to these growing prosperity bellies, the range of events is currently being slimmed down. In some places it even fails completely. What is left in view of the increasing dynamics of infections and the attempts to slow them down somehow?

At the Kleiner Theater Haar they also had to cut some performances from the once lavish December offer, but it is still impressive. The performances that take place will be realized as “hybrid events”: They will be staged with a presence audience (currently an occupancy of 25 percent is still allowed for 2 G plus) and can also be watched via live stream for viewers at the same time who cannot or do not want to come. “We have reserved a warm and protected place for them in our virtual theater hall,” says theater director Matthias Riedel-Rüppel. “And we have some real December hits with us.”

Indeed: on Friday, cabaret artist Philipp Weber will be performing in Haar with his program “Weber N 5 – I love him”, on December 9th Luise Kinseher will come with “Mamma Mia Bavaria”, on December 12th the TGSM theater company will be showing “Der Räuber Hotzenplotz und die Mondrakete “(this performance is not streamed but is live for families under 2-G-plus conditions) and on December 16 it will be” Christmas Jazz “with Jasmin Bayer. The musical evening “Christmas Delight” is planned for December 18th and a performance by the Tölzer Boys Choir in the Church of Mary Seven Pains on December 19th.

The poisoned social atmosphere is currently causing Riedel-Rüppel some pain, and he and his team have already been attacked by suspected opponents of vaccinations on social platforms because of the stricter corona rules. “We are currently experiencing a social division that worries me very much. It makes me particularly afraid because this division does not stop at culture,” he explains. But culture should be a connecting element. In the Small Theater’s newsletter he quotes Martin Luther King: “The message of Christmas: There is no greater power than love. It overcomes hatred as light overcomes darkness.” Or in his, more up-to-date words: “May the pre-Christmas period bring us closer together again, despite all the physical distance.” Further information is available at https://kleinestheaterhaar.de.
