(par). The successful start of the season on the part of HSG Kleenheim continued on the third day of the men’s handball Oberliga Nord. Even against the HSG Großenlüder / Hainzell, the Middle Hesse finally did not miss anything and won with 29:23 (15:11).
»I’m of course overjoyed with the very good start of my team. We got into the new season very well and were able to implement this excellently in the first few games, ”said Matthias Wendlandt, Kleenheim’s coach.
Against the East Hessians, the Kleebachtaler relied on their well-known strengths and actively tackled the guests’ offensive forces. So this increased by the 20th minute to 10: 7 by Fabian Hoepfner. “Especially in the weaker parts of my team we were able to build on a very good goalkeeping performance, so that both goalkeepers were able to take away some important balls from the opponent again and again,” analyzed Wendlandt.
By the half-time break, the home team was in the front with 15:11 and was able to develop a decent leadership cushion by then. In the second half, too, the Kleenheimers secured both a well-working defense and two stable goalkeeper restraints behind them. Already up to the 38th minute of the game it was the sure-footed outside player David Straßheim who increased to 21:13 for the green-whites and thus turned with his colors in the direction of the preliminary decision. Shortly before the end, the guests succeeded again in reducing their own mortgage to four hits, but this no longer endangered Kleenheim’s victory.
“Another game awaits us next week in the derby with HSG Wettenberg, but we will work on being able to take something that can be counted there too,” said Wendlandt looking ahead.
