Klaus-Dieter Beiwenger is retiring

Klaus-Dieter Beiwenger (60) will take temporary retirement with effect from September 1st. Bishop Franz Jung expressed his sincere thanks for his many years of loyal service, as the Diocese of Wrzburg announced in a press letter.

Beiwenger was born in Olsberg in 1961. He was ordained priest on May 13, 1989 in Paderborn. In 1992, Beiwenger began his service in the Diocese of Wrzburg as a chaplain in Pfarrweisach, Maroldsweisach, Baunach and Bischwind. In 1994 he became parish administrator of Gauknigshofen, Bolzhausen, Rittershausen, Schsenheim and Wolkshausen as well as Kuratus of Eichelsee and temporarily also of Gtzingen, two years later also of Sonderhofen.

1997 Beiwenger was incardinated in the Dizese Wrzburg and pastor of the parish Karlstadt-Sankt Andreas. In 1998 he also became chairman and in 2000 head of the Karlstadt Parish Association. From 1999 he was also pastor of the parish Karlstadt-Zur Heiligen Familie. From 2001 to 2004 he was also the person in charge of further training for pastoral services and theological adult education in the Karlstadt dean’s office, and in 2001 he was also the priestly advisory board of the Main-Spessart regional district of permanent deacons. In 2006 he also became the parish administrator of the parishes of Laudenbach, Mhlbach and Stadelhofen as well as the dean’s commissioner for emergency pastoral care.

In 2007, Bishop Friedhelm Hofmann established the parish community of St. George in Karlstadt, whose leader was Beiwenger. He also took on the role of pastor of the Karlstadt Volunteer Fire Brigade. In 2008, Beiwenger was relieved of duties as head of the parish community of St. George and chairman of the Karlstadt parish association. Since 2009 he has been released for a doctorate in the liturgical science department in Erfurt, according to the press letter.
