Klaten Polio Sub PIN Immunization Program Reaches High Achievements

Solopos.com, KLATEN – National Immunization Sub Week or PIN Polio in Klaten until now it is still continuing. Immunization is given to all children aged zero years to seven years 11 months 29 days. In Klaten, the Sub PIN Polio target reached 127,183 children. In the first stage of Sub PIN Polio, the achievement of the first round of immunization in Klaten was relatively high.

“Thank God, the results of the Polio Sub PIN in Klaten are ranked third in Central Java Province,” said the Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the Klaten Health Service (Dinkes), Hanung Sasmito Wibowo, when contacted Solopos.comFriday (19/1/2024).

“The Sub PIN Polio coverage target is at least 95 percent for each round. We will continue monitoring and evaluation until Saturday [20/1/2024]. “Hopefully Klaten can achieve more than 95 percent,” said Hanung.

Asked whether there was resistance to immunization in Klaten or not, Hanung said monitoring and evaluation was still ongoing. “After monitoring and evaluation, we carried out sweeping for targets who refused or were unable to attend health facilities,” explained Hanung.

Previously, the Head of the Central Java (Jateng) Province Health Service (Dinkes), Yunita Dyah Suminar, explained that in Central Java there were 3.9 million children who were targeted by Sub PIN Polio. The additional immunization achievement is targeted at a minimum of 95 percent of the target.

“We urge that 3.9 million children in Central Java be taken to Sub PIN Polio post locations. “This immunization is free and does not cause children to have fevers and so on,” said Yunita during the launch of the Polio Sub PIN in Manisrenggo District, Klaten, Monday.

In Central Java, there was only one polio case found, namely one case in Klaten. He believes that there should be no polio cases in Klaten because polio immunization coverage in Klaten has reached 101 percent.

Apart from that, Klaten is one of the Healthy Districts and has status open defecation free (ODF), a condition where the community has carried out total sanitation, namely not defecating in the open.

From the search results, it turns out that the case of one Klaten child who was positive for contracting the polio virus had a travel history from outside the area and it was possible that he was infected outside the Klaten area.

After these findings, stool samples were also taken from 30 healthy children in the area where the children who tested positive for polio lived and the results were negative or there was no polio virus. “House to house “200 houses were also checked and their condition is good,” he said.
