“Klaipeda District Cup 2022” invited fighters to Gargždus

On February 19, Gargždai hosted the Shindokai-kan karate organization VURI – children’s universal circle wrestling tournament “Shindokai-kan Klaipėda District Cup 2022” on the occasion of the Day of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania. It is being held for the second time in Gargždai instead of the usual place – the city of Kaunas.

This year, the “Klaipėda District Cup 2022” tournament became the official preparatory tournament of the “Lithuanian VURI Championship 2022” of the Lithuanian Shindokai-kan Karate Federation, which will be held on April 9. in Kaunas.
Despite the high incidence of covid and the storm, about 90 young fighters from the cities and districts of Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, born in 2010-2017, were invited to the competition on Saturday. Karate for all, Tora, Tigras, Budokan, Grifas, VLC clubs attracted the most participants to the tournament. Although the competition has already become a regular phenomenon for some, the youngest had to step on the tournament tatami for the first time, so it became a challenge to overcome not only the opponent, but also their own fear.
Klaipėda District Mayor Bronius Markauskas and other Municipality representatives came to open and close the tournament.
In the team standings, the organizers of the tournament Klaipėda district club “Karate for all” won the honorable first place, the second place was the club “Tora” from Kaunas, and the third place was won by the Klaipėda club “Tigras”. The competition was highly anticipated. Children supported each other with chants and applause – there was no shortage of emotions for both children and parents. The organizers of the tournament hope that the tournament will not only motivate children to continue moving forward, but will help develop the character of fighters, that children will learn to fight for the truth, for love, for their dreams in life and no matter how many times they fall not only on the tatami, but also in life. will still stand and boldly move towards their dreams and goals.
Shindokai-kan is a martial arts triathlon. This is a martial art in which wrestling, full-contact KUMITE fights are held according to the rules of karate and kickboxing.

This is where the name of the club “Karate for all” comes from, which not only teaches real self-defense, but there are many different types of combat sports: kata, full and partial contact, kickboxing, wrestling, but most importantly, the character of the fighter is developed and the attitude that karate is not gladiatorial , and the school of leaders.
