Klaipeda customs officers detained a minibus carrying a ton of Russian vodka

The Customs Criminal Service reports that on Tuesday, October 12, in the luggage compartment of the detained car, the customs officers found 372 packages (3.0 liters each) of Beluga vodka.

A total of 1,116 liters of 40 percent pure alcohol was found, the value of which is 13 thousand. euros.

The citizen will not be able to profit from alcohol: customs officers have detained both vodka and a car, and a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the illegal storage and transportation of excisable goods.

After inspecting the cargo, it was established that the driver was transporting it without acquisition or transportation documents, as well as – not marked with special signs of the model approved by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania – stamps.

The investigation is led by prosecutors of the Klaipėda Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
