“Klaidonis” goes on a concert tour for twenty years

In commemoration of its twentieth anniversary, the popular folk music group “Klaidonis” invites you to the anniversary celebrations and the presentation of the new studio album “Neko nejauta”. The tour will start on December 7 with a concert at the Slampes Palace of Culture and will continue in January next year.

At the “Klaidonis” anniversary concerts, the band leader, the author of the music and lyrics, Māris Sloka (vocals, bass guitar), Valdis Rebuks (guitar, vocals), Elmārs Jurgensons (drums), Vīgants Murelis (guitar , steel guitar) and Zigmunds Pogulis (keys).

“We understand that the “Vagabond” is twenty years old… Is it a lot or a little? If compared to “The Rolling Stones”, not a lot, but at the same time, a lot has been achieved over the years: eight studio albums have been recorded, thousands of kilometers have been traveled to play in different places in Latvia and also in neighboring countries. We have become smarter, more normal, maybe a little more lazy, but that’s part of the point,” joked Māris Sloka, waiting for the anniversary tour. “We are sure that we will manage to create a warm atmosphere and, as often happened at our concerts, we will manage to sing together!”

In their 20-year history, the group has released eight studio albums, participated in almost every Bauska Country Music Festival, Eurovision national selection and other events. The music of “Klaidoņa” has been loved by both country music and pop music, because the band is able to skillfully combine these two styles, sometimes adding elements of rock and blues, however, as Māris emphasizes, “it is and still is” klaidon music” – always unique in its charming sound, able to be both romantically and humorously considered at the house.”

The concerts will also feature songs from the new studio album “Neko nejautā”, which was created over eight years and includes songs written by Māras Slokas with lyrics by Guntar Račas, Mārtiņš Kanter, etc.). The performances will also include the already popular compositions from the group “Vecais skroderis”, “Tik âturi zaiskrien laiks”, “Prieks”, etc., as well as “Mazā džuslīte”, which has already become a trademark of the band.
