The hockey players of Kladno defeated the extra league playoffs in their fifth asylum in Chomutov Jihlava 6: 3, won the 4: 1 series of matches and celebrated their retention in the highest competition.
Adam Kubík (2 + 1) and captain Tomáš Plekanec (1 + 2) helped with three points. Fourteenth Kladno, for the first time since the relegation in 2014, can look forward to continuing the extra league, where since then the team of 50-year-old playing owner Jaromír Jágr has only been in the 2019/20 season and ending in this season.
During his absences in the attack, Jihlava deployed 16-year-old Hynek Peš for the first time in the playoffs, who has already played for Dukla in six first league duels, five of them in the playoffs. Kladno started actively in an effort to secure participation among the elite as soon as possible and created opportunities. First, Indrák overshot, Machal’s shot from the position between the circles was covered by Žukov, and after renumbering Kubík’s pass, Plekanec hit the right post of the goal, which was deflected by the Jihlava goalkeeper during the intervention.

Dotchin had another chance, and in the 12th minute Zhukov missed Plekanc’s throw over the shielding Head and the puck bounced off the left post. In the 16th minute, during Dotchin’s expulsion, Dukla turned the situation around. Eighteen-year-old Menšík relaxed over Ticháček, although he failed at Bow, but 40-year-old veteran Čachotský scored from the finish. Kladno responded in 91 seconds. After Baránek’s shot, the puck bounced between the circles towards Kubík, who headed for the right post.
At the beginning of the second part, after embracing the goal, Jágr missed the backhand attempt. After the exclusion of Harkabus and Seman, the Knights were given the advantage of a 78-second power play against three and four seconds before its possible end after Plekanc’s pass, Beran scored closely. He then checked Zhukov after cooperating with Jágr, who later also got a chance.
Kladno defended itself against Machal’s punishment, after which Jihlava remained in the onslaught, but did not create a great chance. It was different with Indrák’s expulsion. Kachyň’s attempt from the blue line headed for the top bar and by 38:58 he had already made his way in front of the Seman goal area and with his second goal in the match he erased the loss.
At the turn of the second and third thirds, the guests resisted on Bilčík’s stay on the penalty bench. Jihlava was increasingly dangerous, she tried to shoot at Bow frequently and in the 51st minute she was close to the leading goal. Havránek released Čachotský with a backhand behind the goal, who hit the left post.
Kladno rejoiced in the time of 54:10 with the exclusion of Patrik Čermák, when the lone Beran prevailed for the second time in the match after Zikmund’s work behind the goal. In 42 seconds, he got ahead of Zhukov Plekanec and sealed the win with a forehand bluff. In the final power play, Harkabus also hit the stick. In the end, two seconds before the end, Kubík scored an empty goal and scored eighth in the fifth match of the series.
