“It’s definitely good to make the home ice a fortress. We have a specific narrow field here, a lot of opponents play stupidly here and we want to take advantage of that, which we succeeded in. We believe that if we collect points at home, we will also bring some from abroad. It’s about constant performance. All points count, we need to collect point by point. Time will tell, but we want to work on not losing at home,” said Kladen’s assistant coach Petr Svoboda about the fact that the team beat Sparta very strong juice.

Kladno had an excellent start to the game and celebrated the leading goal after 78 seconds. After winning the ball, Hanousek leaned into the puck and hit it accurately. In the sixth minute ending, Brno’s goal keeper Postava also conceded for the second time. It was Hanousek who found the onrushing Smoleňák with a clever long pass on the block, who pushed himself to the end and increased. Brízgal’s attention was then tested by Kollár and Zboril, but the Knights had another great chance. Straka missed on the rebound in the 17th minute.

“I think that the opening two goals at the beginning of the first period decided it, it crushed us a lot,” goalkeeper Michal Postava admitted.

At the beginning of the second period, Kladen played the first power play of the match from the end of the first act, but Říček served the entire penalty. In the 25th minute, Filip had a chance to increase the score, but he failed. The home team did not take advantage of another numerical advantage and not long after it ended Kollár brought down. Zohorn had the equalizer in the 36th minute, but Brízgala was against it. “You don’t play for chances, you play for goals. And we had a lot of those chances, especially in the second period. We have to be more aggressive in the finish. We will work hard,” said assistant coach Jiří Horáček.

The third 20-minute period brought a foul by Smoleňák already after 71 seconds, but Brízgal defended the goal against Ščotka, Říčka and Flek. In the 47th minute, the Central Bohemians had a unique opportunity to regain the two-goal lead, as they played five on three for 88 seconds. But the character kept the chances of the visitors to gain a point. He caught Smoleňák’s run and Tralmaks’ bomb from the circle, and in a classic numerical advantage, Pytlík and Jágr also broke their teeth on Postava.

In the 54th minute, Brízgal caught Flek. In the end, Jarůšek did not aim accurately at first, but in the 59th minute, Pytlík took the puck from Ďalog and in the end against Postav, he pulled off a great show when he finished the action with the hockey stick between his legs. With a perfectly mastered trick, he celebrated not only today’s holiday, but also his twenty-third birthday on Wednesday.

“In the match, I already had a few chances before and I went to the goal myself. I tried to put it into the backhand, but the goalkeeper coped well, so I thought I would do something new. This came to me right at that moment and I’m glad that it went down there. I’ll do it here and there in training, but it’s not something I’d really like to do,” said Pytlík.

Postava also appreciated its ending. “There was a thrown puck, one of our defenders lost it, Pytlík drove alone and put a loop between his legs. Unfortunately for me, it also went off, I was helpless at that moment. In the end, it’s a beautiful goal, but I was mainly sorry that we didn’t have a chance to equalise,” said the Brno goalkeeper.

“I think it was a spontaneous thing. There was also a bit of luck. It’s difficult for the goalkeeper because it was unexpected. That’s why it worked out, but of course we’re very happy about it,” added assistant Svoboda.

The South Moravians then tried without a goalkeeper, but Smoleňák made the final decision and celebrated the second goal of the evening and the third of the season.

Coaches’ votes after the game:

Petr Svoboda (Kladno): “We had a good start to the game and quickly took the lead, which was also our goal. At 2:0 we had more chances and could have rebounded more, but I started to play a bit like the professors. In the second period, it was very noticeable, Kometa she was pressing us and turning the game around. After the jam and our mistake, the boys were late again. It was a shame that we scored more goals. that we couldn’t decide it earlier and the nerves were there until the end. Especially the five-on-three power play, we should change that and see the result.”

Jiří Horáček (Brno): “Very bad start to the game and 0:2 within a few minutes. It’s hard to start from that. Then we got into it and had a lot of chances in the second period, which unfortunately we didn’t convert, but the game took on a completely different dimension. In the third period, we survived a three-to-five deficit, the boys did a great job there, and it gave us another chance to do something with that result. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to convert any of the chances we had. Then we opened it up and got a goal, then another on our power play, so we leave without a point.”
