“KkOma told us to keep calm”

ShowMaker, the DWG KIA team midlaner, answered a few questions after his team’s victory over MAD Lions, a victory that allows him and his team to advance to the 2021 MSI Grand Final.

How do you feel about going to the final to play against RNG?

It was a difficult meeting today. The finals will take place in less than 24 hours, so we’ll make sure we prepare well for the win tomorrow.

This BO5 was the first time in an international tournament that DWG KIA participated in a fifth game. What did the team discuss as we approached the last game?

KkOma told us to keep our cool so we all tried to keep our cool in Game 5. To be honest I don’t remember much more. [rires].

DWG KIA chose MAD Lions over PSG Talon as their semi-final opponent. What was the focal point of the preparation for tonight’s series?

We felt that MAD Lions were easier to face than PSG. We focused on botlane priority and overall balance. Although it collapsed a bit in the middle, I think we recalibrated well.

DK banned Lee Sin blue side, but chose him first later. Can you tell us more?

Lee Sin clears the lane pretty quickly, so it’s easier for us to play a bot-centric component. It was one of those balance issues that we felt needed to be recalibrated.

In the end, the team reversed sweep the BO5. What has changed for the team?

Everyone played well; despite the two games lost, maintaining his composure was the main reason for the reverse sweep.

The final against RNG is less than 24 hours away. How will the team come together in such a short time?

We don’t have time, so we won’t be able to do something. I think we’ll just get a good night’s sleep.
