This summer, Se og Hør’s celebrity editors had a chat with well-known and loved celebrities in the “Sommerkjappis” column, where they answered questions about everything from worst holiday memories to summer flings.
Among these was artist and “Idol” winner from 2004, Kjartan Salvesen (46), who was looking forward to the summer with his wife Cathrine (38) and his four children, two of them from his marriage to Cathrine.

Bought a cabin
When asked what kind of plans Salvesen had for the summer, he could reveal that he had bought a new cabin and that he was going to tour with his Stavanger friends.
– Maybe I will “propose” again
– A very short time ago I bought a cabin. At Hommersåk in Sandnes. Only 25 minutes to drive from where we live. That cabin is going to be refurbished and used this summer. I’m looking forward to it! This will be the gathering place for my children and their children again for the next 20-25 years. It’s something I’ve always wanted.

– What is your best and worst holiday memory?
– The best holiday memory has to be when I traveled to Sweden as a child and visited my family, I have so many great memories from there. As an adult, I think there must be summer trips in Sogndal with the children.
Married: – Never cried so much
– The worst has to be when I disappeared without a trace as a child in the middle of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Nobody found me. I completely drifted away from my parents. I don’t quite remember, but I think I was standing in an elevator, and then it just went. It was a hell of a search operation. I wasn’t the old guy, but it’s fun to think about. I still remember it.

Got a guitar discount after “Idol”
– Your best memory from a summer job.
– It must have been me and my friend, we were maybe 16, and had the job of painting the barracks that they used when they built Rennfast, the mainland connection to Rennesøy municipality. We had to stain the barracks. And when you paint with stain, it doesn’t show, and we didn’t understand anything about this. We complained, so they had to buy stain with a little more color in it, so that we felt we had done something.
That’s why he “disappeared”.
– What is the best and worst purchase you have made?
– The best purchase I’ve made has to be my SJ-200 Gibson, a guitar. I bought it after the “Idol” victory in 2004. It is almost 20 years old! I still have it and I still play concerts with it. It cost so much money at the time. It has given me loads of memories.

– Sad very often
– When were you last happy?
– Now! I have been for many years, and it is a wonderful feeling. It is about having a foundation that you have spent a number of years creating. And that you are older and give the hitch into things and people around you. Now I live at walking speed. It was really about time, I am 46 years old.
– The whole world turned upside down
– When was the last time you were sad?
– It wasn’t long ago. I very often am, and I become so on behalf of others, but also on behalf of myself. You argue with things. I have a lot of emotions that I take care of and show, but I don’t go around being very sad all the time. I’m doing something about it.
Se og Hør informs that the interview with Kjartan Salvesen was done earlier this summer.
