AC Milan has provided the latest updates on knee injuries Simon kjaer. The Danish defender had to be out for six months.
“AC Milan confirms that Simon Kjær underwent arthroscopic surgery today to reconstruct anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and reattached the medial collateral ligament in his left knee,” Milan said in a statement on the club’s official website.
Kjaer underwent surgery at the Casa clinic in Cura La Madonnina, Friday (12/3/2021) local time. Doctor Roberto Pozzoni was in charge of repairing Kjaer’s knee and was monitored by the club’s doctor, Stefano Mazzoni.
“Kjær is fine and wants to start the rehabilitation process immediately. He is expected to be out for six months,” closed Milan’s statement.
Simon Kjaer suffered a serious knee injury in the match against Genoa. The injury was obtained by the Danish defender when the game had not been running for five minutes.
Kjaer’s absence is a blow for Milan because his role is very important in the team. AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli admits the Rossoneri have lost a key player.
“We know the quality of the player and his persona. His presence in the team is very important because of his charisma, personality and ability to speak at the right time,” Pioli revealed.
“We are very close to Simon, we are worried about him, but also aware that everything will be fine and he will overcome this difficulty because he is a strong person,” Pioli said.
