Dansatgas said that malaria is a disease that is familiar to our ears, malaria is a serious and dangerous disease caused by infection with the plasmodium parasite which is transmitted through mosquito bites, especially by the Anopheles mosquito.
“When a person starts to become infected, signs and symptoms of this disease will appear after 10 days to 4 weeks. But sometimes symptoms can also appear 7 days after being infected,” he said.
First Lieutenant Marine (K) dr. Feddy Febriyanto Manurung as the Task Force Doctor said that the Monusco XX-S Task Force Health Team routinely carried out fogging around the camp, sprinkled abate powder in water reservoirs and puddles, always reminded each soldier to use mosquito repellent lotion, use mosquito nets when sleep and regularly check on soldiers taking malaria prophylactic drugs.
“The only people who know our health condition are ourselves, so love ourselves and always apply a healthy lifestyle to support our health,” he said.
