In the Ischgl après-ski bar “Kitzloch”, which hit the headlines at the beginning of the corona pandemic, there is another positive, now fifth, corona case by an employee. The country announced this at the request of the APA. Four service employees had previously tested positive – the Omikron variant was detected in three of them. In the fourth case, which was still outstanding, the country was not aware of any omicron evidence “according to the current state of knowledge”.
In this case too, the health authorities assume Omikron, “because this person is a close contact to a person who has been tested for Omikron,” as it was said on Saturday. For this reason, the authorities also took the “particularly strict official segregation measures” for this employee, as in the case of the Omikron variant.
The Tyrolean health authority recently initiated a mass screening for all employees. After all, it cannot be ruled out that other employees of the company who do not work in the “Kitzloch” may have had contact in their free time, it was argued. According to the state, this so-called environmental screening is not mandatory, but it is “strongly recommended”. (apa)
