On Monday, a seriously injured trucker called the emergency number in the “Mainfrankenpark” – he had already been beaten and robbed on Sunday. The police are now asking for information.
Early on Sunday morning (October 13, 2024), unknown strangers attacked a truck driver and stole cash. The 52-year-old was seriously injured in the attack. As the Lower Franconia police headquarters reports, the Würzburg criminal police have now taken over the investigation and are asking for information from the public.
On Monday, around 11:15 a.m., the Lower Franconia police headquarters received a report about an injured male person at a gas station in the “Mainfrankenpark” industrial area. Officers from the Kitzingen police met a 52-year-old truck driver on site who was receiving medical treatment from the emergency services with serious injuries to his head and upper body. The man’s life was never in danger. However, he was taken to a hospital for further treatment.

The man’s injuries and the findings of the police officers on site quickly pointed to a violent attack on the professional driver. According to the current situation, the 52-year-old parked his truck with foreign registration behind the gas station building over the weekend.
On Sunday, around 5 a.m., according to the police, the man was in his driver’s cab when three unknown people suddenly opened the vehicle doors. The perpetrators then hit their victim several times. According to previous findings, the unknown suspects also used a “blunt object”.
After the incident, the man himself called the emergency number of the integrated control center of the fire and rescue service on Monday morning in order to receive medical care. The perpetrators were able to steal a low four-figure sum of cash from the driver’s cab and escape undetected after the crime.

The Würzburg criminal police took over the investigation immediately after the crime became known and is now hoping for information from the public:
- Who made any observations in connection with the violent act on the gas station site on Sunday morning?
- Who noticed suspicious people or vehicles in the “Mainfrankenpark” commercial area before or after the crime?
- Who else can provide relevant information?
The police are looking for witnesses using, among other things, a multilingual poster. They are asked to call 0931/457-1732. Also at the weekend, a dispute between truck drivers escalated in the Coburg district – one man was critically injured.
