Basketball Club »TTT Riga“has agreed on a one – year contract with the attacker of the Latvian women ‘s national team Kitty Laks, who returned to the Latvian club last season, the unit reports.

Kitija Laksa TTT made its debut on October 13, 2012, in the Latvian-Estonian league home game against “AmEst Rapla”. In three seasons, the forwarder started in five of the 78 games, scored 728 points, won 183 rebounds and made 54 assists. Under the leadership of coach Aigars Nerips, Laksa became a two-time Latvian champion and a two-time Latvian-Estonian league winner.
The 24-year-old basketball player returned to the court on December 7, 2019 in a TTT shirt, marking 23 points and three assists in a home game against Tartu University. The striker scored 8.0 points in an average of 20.6 minutes and won 2.6 balls under the baskets in seven FIBA Euroleague games. In the “Douglas” Baltic Basketball League, she averaged 18.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in seven games.

Laksa reached the final of the American Athletic Conference League for three years in a row and helped the Bulls qualify for the NCAA Championship three times.
During the career of Laksa students, 86 of the 99 games started in the top five of the USF Bulls. She scored 1764 points, won 312 balls and made 97 assists. In the 2018 season, the basketball player set two NCAA First Division records – threw 11 three-point shots in one game in a row and took free throws with 96.5% accuracy (111/115).
Laksa made her debut in the Latvian state unit on May 11, 2013 in Alytus, Lithuania. A month later, the daughter of the former national basketball player Jānis Laksas became the youngest player of the 2013 European Championship, who left the field. The striker has represented the team in three European finals (2013, 2015, 2017) and the World Cup (2018), scoring 293 points in 51 games. In turn, he scored 654 points in 51 games in the Latvian youth national team. The first coach for a basketball player is Mudīte Zandere. In 2018, Laksa was also recognized as the Latvian basketball player of the year.
