Kissinger is of the opinion that negotiations on Ukraine will begin at the end of the year with the mediation of China

/Pogled.info/ Negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine with the mediation of China should begin at the end of this year. This opinion was expressed by former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in an interview broadcast on CBS on Sunday, reports TASS.

According to him, the Ukrainian conflict may be approaching a turning point. “Now that China has entered the negotiations, everything will fall into place. I think that by the end of the year we will be talking about negotiation processes and even real negotiations,” Kissinger said.

He was asked if, at the request of the American leader, he would agree to go to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “I would be inclined to,” Kissinger replied. He added that he was willing to travel to Moscow in his role as the US president’s national security aide.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow never refuses to negotiate, but dialogue on the situation around Ukraine can only take place if Russia’s legitimate interests and concerns are taken into account.

Kissinger, who turns 100 at the end of the month, served as US Secretary of State from 1973 to 1977. From 1969 to 1975, he was the US President’s National Security Assistant.
