The KISS Avatar show is scheduled to celebrate its world premiere in 2026. Now Paul Stanley has given an update – and drawn big comparisons.
KISS-Frontman Paul Stanley was recently on Steve-O’s podcast Wild Ride! as a guest. In it, he gave an update on the Avatar show that will finally make his band immortal pop culture icons: “Cirque du Soleil meets Star Wars and a KISS concert,” said the singer. The technology used for the KISS avatars was originally developed by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). ABBAs Voyageshow in London will allow KISS to stay on the road even in retirement.
The project was first announced in 2023, and the first KISS Avatar show is scheduled to take place in 2026. “What we’re going to do with these amazing avatars will take us to another place, to another level,” Stanley continued. He also mentioned that the pictures and trailers shown after the last KISS show in New York’s Madison Square Garden no longer corresponded to reality. “I had mixed feelings about showing them because it was so early. They don’t look the same anymore. What we’re putting together with George Lucas and Pophouse, this amazing company from Sweden, is an immersive experience that you can immerse yourself in, and there will be heat and fire and wind and Things flying around.“
Things flying around. Sounds great! And if the Avatar show is even half as successful as ABBA’s Voyage, then it will still be a huge success: in 2023 alone there were 374 performances of the holographic show 1,097,597 visitors attracted, which corresponds to a occupancy rate of 97.8%. “I’ve seen it twice and the audience is just thrilled and a part of the whole thing.” So let’s get ready for something.
